Fever Upset Storm with Stunning Shooting Performance
The Indiana Fever were looking to change their luck against the Seattle Storm on Sunday. Coming into the game, Indiana was winless in three matchups with Seattle, but this time they were determined to make a statement.
With playoff positioning on the line, the Fever hit the court ready to take down one of the league’s top teams. Lexie Hull got things started with a strong first half, scoring 10 points and making crucial plays that helped shift the momentum in Indiana’s favor.
After a rough start where they managed to score just 13 points in the first quarter, Indiana found their rhythm. Thanks to Hull’s two 3-pointers in the second quarter, they overcame an early seven-point deficit to lead 35-34 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Kelsey Mitchell joined in on the scoring spree, tallying 10 points and pushing Indiana to a narrow 59-58 lead heading into the final quarter.
Once they hit the fourth quarter, the Fever found their groove, scoring a jaw-dropping 33 points and outscoring the Storm by 16. Hull, riding high on confidence, made four 3-pointers in this quarter alone, finishing with a career-high of 22 points.
The crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse erupted with every shot, and the energy was contagious among the players. Coach Christie Sides noted the importance of confidence and how it fueled the Fever’s performance.
The fans, over 17,000 strong, were treated to an impressive display of basketball that showcased the Fever’s potential as they aim for a playoff spot this season. Hull got to celebrate her big night with her family courtside, making it an even more memorable game.
As the game wrapped up, it was clear that the Fever had turned a corner as they look to continue building momentum as the playoffs approach.
