Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield exhibit their romantic comedy prowess in John Crowley’s upcoming film ‘We Live in Time,’ set for a limited theatrical release on Oct. 11, as revealed in the trailer released by A24.

The movie follows the journey of Almut (played by Pugh), a rising chef, and Tobias (played by Garfield), a recent divorcee, as they navigate love, family, and life-changing events over several decades following a serendipitous encounter.

Almut and Tobias are unexpectedly brought together, setting off a chain of events that significantly impacts their lives. As the narrative unfolds through snapshots of their shared experiences – from falling in love to building a life and family together – a challenging truth emerges, testing the very foundation of their relationship.

The trailer captures their evolving relationship over a span of 10 years, starting from the moment Almut accidentally hits Tobias with her car to the time they recount their love story to their young daughter.

After their joint appearance at the 2023 Oscars, where they presented screenplay awards, it was announced that both Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield will star in the highly anticipated ‘Dune: Part Two‘ and ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ films.

The world premiere of ‘We Live in Time’ is scheduled for the Toronto International Film Festival in September, following StudioCanal’s acquisition of the U.S. distribution rights at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023.

The screenplay for the film was crafted by Nick Payne, known for his work on ‘The Crown‘ and ‘The Last Letter From Your Lover’ on Netflix. Payne collaborated with StudioCanal to develop the script, with the movie being executive produced by Benedict Cumberbatch and his production company SunnyMarch, alongside Leah Clarke, Adam Ackland, and Guy Heeley. Ron Halpern and Joe Naftalin are the producers from StudioCanal.

The touching and breathtaking trailer for ‘We Live in Time’ offers a glimpse into the profound and deeply moving romance that unfolds between Almut and Tobias, taking audiences on a journey filled with love, challenges, and the celebration of every moment they share.
