Former Canucks Star Ryan Kesler Fires Up Fans During Pregame Festivities
The atmosphere at Rogers Arena in Vancouver was electric as former Vancouver Canucks star Ryan Kesler and his son, Ryker, took center stage in the pregame festivities for Game 2 of the Western Conference First Round.
Ryker, donning his father’s iconic No. 17 Canucks jersey, proudly stood at the center ice as the designated ‘Canucks towel kid of the game’ amid roaring cheers from the fans.
What’s more, before the puck dropped, the retired forward Kesler revved up the crowd as he cranked the siren, sending the arena into a frenzy of excitement.
Prior to the game, both Kesler and Ryker personally placed rally towels on every seat in the arena, gearing up the fans for an intense matchup.
Ryan Kesler, a stalwart of the Canucks for a decade from 2007 to 2014, played a pivotal role in the team’s Western Conference Championship in 2011 before retiring from the NHL in 2019 after a successful 15-season career.
In an interview with Sportsnet, Kesler expressed his delight at being back in Vancouver, highlighting the joy of his son experiencing the vibrant playoff atmosphere for the first time.
