Former Enugu Senator Ayogu Eze Passes Away at 66
Former Enugu North Senator, Ayogu Eze, has sadly passed away at the age of 66 following a period of undisclosed illness. Eze, who represented the Enugu North Senatorial District from 2007 to 2015, breathed his last in an Abuja hospital on Thursday.
Ayogu Eze, a key figure in the establishment of the Peoples Democratic Party, was later appointed as a federal Commissioner for Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission after his dedicated service in the Senate. Through his political career, Eze showcased active involvement in various pivotal committees such as the Senate Committee of Works, Constitutional Amendment, Police Affairs, National Planning, Marine Transport, and Federal Character & Inter-Government Affairs.
During his tenure as a Senator, Eze made significant contributions to legislative processes, notably participating in the Constitutional Drafting and Amendment Committee where key changes to the 1999 constitution were proposed and reviewed. His leadership as the chairman of the Senate Committee of Works further highlighted his commitment to national infrastructure development.
