Former ‘General Hospital’ actor Johnny Wactor tragically lost his life in a shooting incident in downtown Los Angeles. The 37-year-old actor, known for his role as Brando Corbin on the popular daytime drama, was fatally shot while interrupting a catalytic converter theft.

Wactor’s mother, Scarlett Wactor, confirmed the heartbreaking news of her son’s passing. Describing him as a ‘light in a dark room,’ she expressed the profound loss felt by the family.

His manager, Marco Cuadros, expressed deep sorrow over the senseless tragedy, remembering Wactor as a talented, kind-hearted individual who inspired those around him with his passion for acting.

The Los Angeles Police Department provided details of the incident, which took place in the early hours of the morning near Pico Boulevard and Hope Street in downtown Los Angeles.

Scarlett Wactor recounted the events leading up to her son’s death, indicating that Johnny had encountered three individuals removing a catalytic converter from his vehicle as he was leaving work at a rooftop bar in downtown LA.

Johnny Wactor, a native of South Carolina, had harbored a passion for acting since his early years. After attending Rollings Middle School of the Arts in South Carolina, he pursued his dreams in Hollywood, where he honed his craft in various acting classes.

Throughout his career, Wactor made appearances on popular TV shows like ‘Westworld’ and lent his voice to the video game ‘Call of Duty: Vanguard.’ His noteworthy role on ‘General Hospital’ endeared him to audiences as Brando, the son of Gladys Corbin, played by Bonnie Borroughs.

Catalytic converter thefts have been on the rise nationwide, prompting legislative efforts in states like California and Rhode Island to curb the illegal trade of these precious metals. Wactor’s tragic death sheds light on the dangers faced by individuals confronting criminals engaged in such illicit activities.
