Former Indian cricketer David Johnson tragically passed away at the age of 52 in a heartbreaking incident that occurred in Bengaluru, Kothanur. The former cricket star, hailing from Arasikere in Hassan district, Karnataka, fell from the fourth-floor balcony of his apartment on the morning of June 20.

Johnson, who made his international debut in 1996, had a brief but impactful career in cricket. He represented India in two Test matches and was an active participant in the Karnataka Premiere League tournament.

Renowned cricketer Anil Kumble, who shared cricketing moments with Johnson, expressed his condolences on social media, mourning the untimely demise of his colleague. The tragic news has sent shockwaves through the cricketing community.

Describing Johnson as a vital member of a dominant Karnataka bowling unit that included the likes of Javagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad, and Dodda Ganesh, former Indian pacer Ganesh reminisced about their shared tennis cricket days, their time in the Karnataka team, and the camaraderie on and off the field.

Members of the cricketing fraternity, including BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, extended their sympathies to Johnson’s family and friends, acknowledging the significant contributions he made to the game during his playing days.
