Former New York Yankee Derek Jeter Puts Tiedemann Castle on the Market
Former New York Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter has recently put up his sprawling Greenwood Lake estate for sale through Mansion Global, signaling a shift in his real estate investments.
The expansive four-acre property, located in Orange County, boasts the iconic Tiedemann Castle, a lavish 9,000-square-foot structure complete with modern amenities nestled within its castle-like facade of battlements and turrets.
Having originally acquired the estate in a series of transactions in the early 2000s for a total of $1.6 million, Jeter subsequently invested around $3 million in renovations, transforming the property into a luxurious retreat.
Aside from the castle itself, the estate features several additional structures including guest, boat, and pool houses, an outdoor kitchen, a lagoon, a dock, and even a replica of the Statue of Liberty, offering a total of almost 12,600 square feet of living space for potential buyers.
The estate was last listed at $6.5 million, significantly down from its initial listing price of $14.75 million when Jeter first placed it on the market back in 2018, showcasing a notable reduction in the asking price over the years.
