Gabby Logan Reflects on Her 23-Year Marriage with Kenny Logan
Gabby Logan has opened up about her long-lasting 23-year marriage to former Scotland rugby union player Kenny Logan. She shared that they often check in with each other to see how they’re feeling, much like teammates do on the field.
In her words, sometimes one partner needs a little support, while at other times, it’s the other one who’s feeling down. According to Gabby, this constant effort is essential, saying, “It isn’t something you can just leave to be and hope it’s all right in 15 years.” She emphasizes the importance of communication, having fun, and making time for each other to keep their bond strong.
Her reflections have led many to remember their beautiful wedding day on July 19, 2001. Gabby looked stunning in an ivory tulle wedding dress by Ben de Lisi, complete with a long train and a cathedral-length veil that perfectly complemented her look.
The necklace she wore on her big day was also quite special. She mentioned, “I bought this necklace from a jeweller on the King’s Road. It holds wonderful memories for me, because I wore this on my wedding day in 2001.” Kenny, on the other hand, wore traditional Highland dress featuring a kilt in the Logan family tartan.
The couple’s love story began one night in Fulham when Kenny was instantly captivated by Gabby, who he recognized from television. He recalled thinking she was a “blonde bombshell” and ended up seeking an introduction through mutual friends.
After a whirlwind romance of just seven months, the couple got engaged, though Gabby’s father, Terry Yorath, had some initial concerns. However, after a golfing trip in Spain, he happily welcomed Kenny into the family, saying it would be an honor to have him as a son-in-law.
In 2004, Gabby and Kenny welcomed their first child through IVF after facing some fertility challenges. Gabby has since expressed some regret about not having more children, especially after Kenny’s recent battle with prostate cancer, from which he has thankfully recovered.
Reflecting on their family plans, Gabby shared her thoughts with Kenny about their empty nest, realizing she always envisioned having a larger family.
