Gabriel Macht to Reprise Role as Harvey Specter in ‘Suits LA’

The popular legal drama television series ‘Suits‘ is set to welcome back one of its most iconic characters, Harvey Specter, as part of a new spin-off titled ‘Suits LA‘. Gabriel Macht, who portrayed the charismatic attorney throughout the original series, will reprise his role in a three-episode arc of the upcoming NBC show, according to sources shared with Deadline. Although NBC representatives have declined to comment on this development, Macht’s return is eagerly anticipated by fans of the series.

‘Suits LA’ was announced following the resurgence of the original series on Netflix, which significantly boosted its popularity. Since then, there has been ongoing speculation regarding the return of original cast members for the spin-off. Aaron Korsh, the creator of both ‘Suits’ and ‘Suits LA’, previously hinted at such possibilities, with many former cast members expressing their willingness to participate if approached.

The storyline of ‘Suits LA’ centers around Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York played by Stephen Amell, who now leads a prestigious legal firm in Los Angeles. Black’s firm faces a crisis, forcing him to navigate a role he previously disdained. The show explores themes of loyalty and the interplay between personal and professional lives amid these challenges. Gabriel Macht’s character, Harvey Specter, is set to assist «an old friend in need,» according to a teaser shared by Macht on Instagram.

Despite his short engagement with the spin-off, Macht’s participation marks his return to acting after his hiatus following the ‘Suits’ series finale in 2019. Since then, Macht has resided in the United Kingdom with his family and made occasional public appearances, including a reunion at the Golden Globes and a commercial alongside fellow ‘Suits’ alum Patrick J. Adams for T-Mobile.

‘Suits LA’ will premier on February 23, produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group. Alongside Stephen Amell, the series features a star-studded cast including Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt, and Bryan Greenberg. The production team includes renowned names such as Aaron Korsh, David Bartis, Doug Liman, Gene Klein, Anton Cropper, and Genevieve Sparling.
