Gautam Gambhir Set to Take Over as India Head Coach Post Rahul Dravid’s Tenure
Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir is on the verge of becoming the next head coach of the Indian cricket team following Rahul Dravid‘s successful stint.
BCCI president, Roger Binny, hinted at Gambhir’s potential appointment during an interview with news agency ANI. Binny expressed the view that Gambhir’s vast experience in all formats of the game could benefit Indian cricket.
When questioned about the coaching role, Gambhir had previously told PTI that coaching the Indian team would be a huge honor for him.
Reports suggest that Gambhir has outlined five conditions for accepting the head coach position, including having autonomy over team selection and support staff.
Despite lacking prior coaching experience, Gambhir has excelled as a mentor for Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders. Under his mentorship, KKR clinched the IPL 2024 title.
