George Strait Honored with Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at CMA Awards
George Strait, widely celebrated as «The King of Country Music,» is set to receive the prestigious Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at «The 58th Annual CMA Awards» held on Wednesday. The accolade acknowledges the artist’s enduring influence and significant contributions to the music industry over a career spanning more than four decades.
Strait, a Texas native, has made an indelible mark with his 31 studio albums and an impressive record of 60 No. 1 hit singles, the most ever by a country artist. Sarah Trahern, Chief Executive Officer of the Country Music Association (CMA), praised Strait’s contributions to the genre, stating, “There have been few other artists as authentically Texas and authentically country as George Strait, and country music fans all over the world have been better for it.»
Luke Bryan, who is co-hosting the event, honored Strait by referring to him as «The King of Country Music» during the opening of the ceremony. Bryan’s co-hosting duties add to the celebration as the awards show highlights Strait’s longstanding impact on country music.
