Ghanaian Bartender Wins Johnnie Walker Black Label Global Bartender Challenge

Johnnie Walker, the worldu2019s number one Scotch Whisky, recently announced the winners of the Black Label Global Bartender Challenge, with Ghanaian bartender Survaiva Benjamin Donkor emerging victorious. Donkor, a Senior Bartender at Tribeca Restaurant, clinched an exclusive three-night immersive Black Label experience in Scotland, the home of Johnnie Walker.

Bartenders from around the world were invited to showcase their creativity by sharing an Instagram reel featuring their unique Johnnie Walker Black Label cocktail. Donkor’s winning cocktail, dubbed «The Black Secret,» impressed the judging panel with its blend of Johnnie Walker Black Label, fresh lemon juice, activated charcoal syrup, crème de cassis, coconut liqueur, and fresh pineapple juice.

The exclusive trip to Scotland is scheduled for the Burns Night weekend in January 2025 and will offer the winners an authentic Burns Night celebration experience. Other activities planned include visits to the Diageo Archive, behind-the-scenes distillery tours, and a tasting session with Dr Emma Walker, the Johnnie Walker Master Blender, among other experiences at Johnnie Walker Princes Street.
