Global Leaders Grace PM Modi’s Oath Ceremony in Delhi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to take the oath for a record third term today, along with members of his council of ministers, at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi. PM Modi’s continued leadership makes him the first individual, after former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, to secure a third consecutive term. The swearing-in ceremony is expected to draw the presence of top leaders and dignitaries from neighboring countries including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius, and Seychelles, as part of India‘s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy. Among the dignitaries will be President of the Maldives, in addition to various other global leaders.
The decisions surrounding the new cabinet were made after a lengthy 11-hour meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence. Security measures in Delhi have been heightened, with a three-layered security setting up at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Commandos from Delhi Police’s SWAT and NSG have been strategically deployed across the venue and other key locations in the capital city. The national capital has been declared a no-fly zone, preventing the use of drones, para gliders, and other aerial devices.
The swearing-in event is anticipated to see the attendance of key leaders from various parties, including TDP and JDU. Notable personalities such as Nitin Gadkari and S Jaishankar are among the prospective members of PM Modi’s new cabinet. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that her Trinamool Congress party will be absent from the grand event due to their stance on the legality and democracy of the government’s formation.
Actor Rajinikanth is set to partake in the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, commending Modi’s achievement of securing a third term. Other prominent figures like HD Kumaraswamy and Chirag Paswan are poised to play key roles in the Modi 3.0 cabinet. A number of allies, including TDP, JDU, Shiv Sena, and Lok Janshakti Party, are crucial factors in BJP‘s majority within the Lok Sabha.
