Golden State Warriors Unveil 2024-25 City Edition Uniforms Highlighting Golden Gate Bridge
The Golden State Warriors have introduced their new City Edition uniforms for the 2024-25 NBA season, with a design inspired by the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. On Thursday morning, the Warriors unveiled the navy-blue Nike jerseys and shorts which feature a depiction of the bridge’s towers and cables in red along the side panels. The team name and player numbers are printed in yellow, a nod to the bridge’s nameplate.
The unveiling event, lacking a live model, displayed the uniform on a headless mannequin draped with a black sheet prior to the reveal. «It’s not only about featuring an iconic landmark on our uniform as we head into All-Star 2025, but it also allows us to really celebrate San Francisco being our own,» said Kim Trinidad, the Warriors’ vice president of marketing operations. The team plans to wear these uniforms for the first time at the upcoming game against the Atlanta Hawks at the Chase Center.
This year’s design comes as the Warriors gear up to host the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, a significant event for the franchise following its relocation from Oakland to San Francisco five years ago. The previous season saw the Warriors’ City Edition uniforms inspired by San Francisco’s famous cable cars.
The press conference, held overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, coincided with similar fashion events for each of the NBA’s 30 teams. Denis Mulligan, representing the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District, commented on the symbolism of the bridge. «The bridge is a symbol of our community and the Bay Area’s winning ways, regardless of the odds,» Mulligan stated, reflecting on the engineering and financial challenges overcome in the bridge’s construction.
Additionally, the uniform is tied to community initiatives involving the Warriors and partner organizations, focusing on educational programs for middle-school girls interested in STEM and arts careers. The campaign will include sessions with engineers who work on the Golden Gate Bridge, aiming to empower young women to pursue careers in technical fields.
