Gordon Ramsay Serves Culinary Excellence at the Las Vegas Grand Prix
Gordon Ramsay is no stranger to star-studded events, and this weekend, he brings his culinary expertise to the glamorous setting of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Renowned for his fiery television persona and Michelin-starred cuisine, Ramsay is set to serve an array of exquisite dishes at the event, offering a unique dining experience at the heart of the Formula 1 spectacle.
The celebrity chef is hosting an exclusive event dubbed ‘Ramsay’s Garage,’ where guests, who shelled out $35,000 each, will enjoy a three-day gourmet feast at the trackside. In a conversation with Motorsport, Ramsay enthused about the lavish event, likening it to the iconic Monaco Grand Prix. «This is our Monaco,» he stated. «It’s flash, it’s flamboyant, it’s Vegas. People are loving it.»
Among the culinary highlights is a 120kg (264lb) yellowfin tuna, complete with its own paddock pass, which is a playful nod to the exclusivity of the occasion. «It’s got its own paddock pass. We had the face of the tuna on the pass and everything,» Ramsay remarked, underscoring the uniqueness of the menu that includes a variety of options, from fried chicken to handmade sushi rolls.
Ramsay expressed his excitement about bringing top-notch hospitality to the Formula 1 paddock, a space where he believes food has not traditionally been a featured attraction. «I’ve got a great relationship with F1, the team have been amazing,» Ramsay said. He credited Stefano Domenicali, the Formula 1 CEO, for his vision of integrating lifestyle elements into the sport. «Food was never really a talking point before,» Ramsay added.
The event offers guests not only fine dining but also entertainment intertwined with the thrill of the race. «There’s something quite special about this thing only being up for 72 hours, we’re really creating something unique,» Ramsay explained. «Finally, I can tick that box and say we’re delivering beyond-Michelin star [quality].»
Despite his behind-the-scenes responsibilities, Ramsay plans to make an appearance on the starting grid, blending his love for motorsport with his culinary passion. «I mean I couldn’t get the kitchen any closer to the track,» he quipped, hinting at his plans to mingle with Formula 1 fans and personalities.
Ramsay joked about staying out of the way of longtime Formula 1 commentator Martin Brundle, saying, «I’ll pop out to the grid. [But] I’ll be hiding from [Martin Brundle] — he’s sick to death of my face.»
