Gujarat Game Zone Tragedy: Massive Fire Claims Lives of 22 People
At least 22 people, including children, tragically lost their lives in a devastating fire that engulfed the popular TRP game zone in Rajkot, Gujarat. The incident occurred on a summer evening, leaving the community in shock.
The fire broke out in a fiber dome structure where gaming activities were taking place, leading to a rapid spread of flames. The structure collapsed under the intense heat, complicating rescue efforts.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Vinayak Patel confirmed the loss of 22 lives in the fire, noting the challenge of identifying charred bodies due to the severity of the blaze.
Eyewitnesses described a scene of panic and chaos as families and children enjoying the gaming zone found themselves trapped in the unfolding tragedy. The game zone is located on Nana-Mava Road in Rajkot.
Authorities were alerted to the fire around 4:30 pm, triggering a swift response from fire tenders and ambulances. The firefighting efforts were hampered by the structure collapse, with debris impeding access to victims.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, prompting the state government to launch a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incident thoroughly.

CM Patel announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh for the families of each deceased victim and Rs 50,000 for the injured. He emphasized the importance of preventing such tragedies in the future and vowed to hold any negligent parties accountable.
Rajkot Police Commissioner Raju Bhargav pledged a detailed investigation into the fire’s cause and issued a closure directive to gaming zones in the city as a precautionary measure.
