Kendriya Vidyalaya Suryalanka Students Receiving Medical Treatment

An official release from the defence authorities in Visakhapatnam announced that all 20 out of 21 students from the Kendriya Vidyalaya-Suryalanka school, who fell ill, have been discharged from the Government General Hospital at Bapatla. Their condition has been declared stable, with one student remaining under medical care.

The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, when several children in Class VI and Class VII reported feelings of unease after coming into contact with tissues brought from home by a Class VI student. This led to concerns regarding the health of the affected students.

The school authorities promptly transported the students to a nearby Indian Air Force medical facility at Air Force Station Suryalanka, where they received preliminary medical treatment. Following this, the students were transferred to the Bapatla Government General Hospital under arrangements made by the IAF.

A total of 21 students received outpatient department (OPD) treatment at the hospital. Of these, 20 students have since been discharged. One girl, who complained of fever she had experienced since the previous evening, remains under medical care.

The nature of the substance found in the tissues is currently under investigation by the hospital. Authorities are working diligently to discern the specifics of this incident and ensure the safety and well-being of all students involved.
