It’s getting really hot out there folks! Both Myrtle Beach and Miami are bracing for a serious heat wave this week, with high humidity making things feel even stickier. If you’re in Myrtle Beach, get ready for the heat index to climb into the 105 to 110-degree range starting from now until the end of the week.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Myrtle Beach from 11 AM to 8 PM. With temperatures expected to reach the low to mid-90s, it’s crucial to stay safe. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids, hang out in air-conditioned spaces, and keep an eye on your friends and neighbors to make sure they’re okay.

Even though there’s a small chance of some isolated storms today and tomorrow – about 20% to 30% – the main focus is definitely the heat. Friday could see another heat advisory as the temperatures continue to rise.

Heading into the weekend, the sticky humidity isn’t going anywhere! Saturday’s heat index might soar close to 110 degrees again, but don’t worry too much about your plans. Scattered showers and storms are expected, but they shouldn’t ruin your fun. Rain chances will be around 40% during the afternoons both Saturday and Sunday.

Over in Miami, it’s not looking any cooler either. A heat advisory was also issued there for Miami-Dade, Broward, and the Keys for Thursday, lasting from 10 AM to 7 PM. The heat index could reach up to 110 degrees! Similar advice applies here: drink lots of fluids (but skip the caffeine and alcohol), stay indoors during peak heat hours, and look after your family and friends.

If you’ve got to go outside, remember to dress light and wear sunscreen. And if you’re a pet owner, make sure to check the pavement temperature with the seven-second rule. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for your furry friend!
