A significant law enforcement operation unfolded Thursday evening in Sandyville, Jackson County, West Virginia, in response to a domestic incident involving a firearm. This development was confirmed by Jackson County 911 dispatchers.

The initial report was logged shortly after 5 p.m. near the intersection of Panther Lane and Trace Fork Road. Notably, there have been no reported injuries stemming from the situation.

Jackson County Sheriff Ross Mellinger provided additional details, stating that a suspect discharged a firearm, resulting in a man barricading himself inside a residence in the area.

Authorities on the scene, which included the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, West Virginia State Police, Ravenswood Police Department, and Jackson County EMS, were in the process of securing arrest and search warrants.

Law enforcement successfully cleared the area by just after 7:30 p.m., as per statements from officials. Efforts to gather further information are ongoing, with updates expected through the WSAZ news platform.
