Heavy Rainfall Causes Road Closures in Montreal Area
Heavy rainfall in the Montreal area due to the impact of Storm Beryl has led to partial closures of major roads, disrupting the evening commute for many drivers.
Main arteries affected included Autoroute 40, between Autoroute 13 and Cavendish Boulevard, which remains closed, along with the ramp from Autoroute 15 south to Autoroute 40.
In Laval, Autoroute 13 north, between Hickmore Street and Autoroute 520, was also shut down temporarily.
The evening forecast predicted an additional 30 to 40 mm of precipitation, posing risks of heavy rain and thunderstorms, with gusts of up to 40 km/h.
The day following the storm, Thursday, is expected to bring about 15 mm of rain with a cloudy night and a 60% chance of showers.
