High Turnout at Piesang Valley Community Centre Voting Station in Plettenberg Bay
Voters in Plettenberg Bay showed strong participation as they flocked to the Piesang Valley Community Centre voting station early on Wednesday. The atmosphere was bustling with activity even before the 07:00 voting commencement, with a lengthy queue forming as early as 06:00.
Ayanda Kunene, an electoral official from IEC Bitou, noted the significant voter traffic at locations like Plettenberg Bay Primary School and Kwanokuthula. However, the New Horizons community hall voting station experienced a lower voter turnout in comparison.
Kunene mentioned that there were some minor incidents involving elderly voters, all of which were promptly resolved. Additionally, technical glitches related to network connectivity posed brief challenges, swiftly addressed by IT experts.
By 10:00, Kunene expressed overall satisfaction with the election proceedings, affirming that things were proceeding smoothly. According to IEC reports, the Piesang Valley Community Centre emerged as the busiest polling venue during the early stages of voting on Wednesday, contrasting the fewer early voters at the New Horizons community hall.
