Highland and Moray Students Celebrate SQA Exam Success
Today, students in the Highlands and Moray are celebrating as they receive their SQA exam results. This year’s results showcase a lot of hard work, with many young people achieving impressive qualifications.
In the Highlands, the results show that there was an increase in National 5 entries and about 75.6% of candidates got grades from A to C. This is promising news, as it indicates that more students are doing well compared to last year.
Cllr John Finlayson expressed his pride in the students’ achievements. He highlighted that despite the challenges students have faced over the last few years, their determination and resilience have shone through. Teachers have also played a big role in supporting these young people on their educational journey.
For those who may feel disappointed with their results, there is plenty of support available. Students are encouraged to reach out to their Personal Support Teachers for guidance and options on what to do next. Parents and caregivers are also encouraged to be there for their children, discussing outcomes and providing encouragement.
Moving on to Moray, over 2,300 secondary school pupils received their results today as well. Similar to the Highlands, performance in exams remains steady, with 75 students achieving six ‘A’ grades in National 5 and others succeeding in various subjects.
Councillor Kathleen Robertson from Moray praised the students for their hard work, emphasizing the importance of the skills they have developed throughout their education. Furthermore, there’s an ongoing effort to expand ungraded course options to cater to different learning paths for students.
If anyone in the Highlands or Moray is looking for support, Skills Development Scotland is available to help, along with the SQA candidate advice line. These resources are there to ensure all students have the guidance they need during this important time.
