It’s that time of day again! On August 13th, enthusiasts of word games are diving into yet another round of Connections, a favorite game from The New York Times.

If you’re unfamiliar with how it works, let me break it down for you. The game presents you with a set of 16 words that you need to sort into four different groups based on their connections. Sounds simple, right? Well, it can often be a bit tricky!

Each group is color-coded, making it easier to identify which ones might be simpler to figure out. The yellow group features the easiest connections, followed by green, blue, and the most challenging group, which is purple.

Today, the words you’ll be working with include Marked, Said, Spoke, Wheel, Clear, Handle, Porter, Pronounced, Designation, Rough, Striking, Moniker, Told, Sobriquet, Power, and Voiced. Are you already thinking of connections?

The hints suggest starting with the yellow group for an easier win. Many players quickly spot the connections with the words: Said, Spoke, Told, and Voiced, linking them through speaking or communication.

But it doesn’t stop there! The remaining groups can be a bit more complex, like figuring out the blue connections that may send you scratching your head.

This game has gained popularity since its launch, quickly becoming a favorite alongside other games like Worlde. If you find yourself struggling, the NYTimes also has other games to explore while giving your brain a break.
