Hoda Kotb Embraces 60 with Positivity
Hoda Kotb just turned 60, and she couldn’t be happier about it. Instead of just celebrating for herself, she decided to share her positive outlook on aging with everyone. During a special episode of her podcast, Hoda took the mic solo and opened up about stepping into this new decade with hope and gratitude.
She mentioned feeling honored to join the ranks of other amazing women like Sandra Bullock who are also entering their 60s. “When I look at these women, I see vibrancy, creativity, and rebirth,” she said. Hoda believes every decade offers a chance for renewal, no matter the age.
Hoda reminisced about past birthdays, noting how people often panic as they reach milestone ages. “Some people, when they turn 30, think it’s all over. But you’re on your own ride,” she emphasized, reflecting on how blessings can come at any age.
For Hoda, her 50s were filled with significant highs, including personal and professional achievements. She mentioned, “I can only imagine that my 60s are going to be filled with all of that goodness.” But she also stressed that it’s crucial to recognize one’s worth to truly enjoy these blessings.
“You have to feel worthy of it,” she advised, encouraging others to open themselves up to love and new experiences. She revealed that during her battle with cancer, she learned to ask for what she wanted and to dream bigger.
She shared how she started to feel more deserving of love, especially after adopting her daughters, Hope and Haley. Reflecting on those moments of doubt about her worthiness, Hoda had a breakthrough realization: “You can’t scare me,” which helped liberate her from fear.
At 60, Hoda describes her life as being in a phase of “repotting,” ready for new growth, like a plant that needs a bigger pot. She plans to make space in her life for personal growth while also understanding that her children need room to grow too.
Recently, she showed her commitment to self-care, sharing that she carved out time for exercise and personal fulfillment. “I’m better with them when I’m full,” Hoda stated, highlighting that self-love allows her to be a better mom and friend.
«Sixty feels like breathing to me,» she reflected. Hoda is excited about what’s ahead, believing that life only gets better with age, and she can’t wait to embrace all the joys that this new decade will bring.
