Hope Walz Shines at the Democratic National Convention

Hope Walz made a notable entrance at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night. The 23-year-old daughter of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz attended the event accompanied by her mother, Gwen, and brother, Gus.

For the occasion, Hope wore a lilac midi dress by the brand Self-Portrait. The dress was characterized by an overlay of floral lace, complementing details such as a round neckline, short sleeves, a flared skirt, and a matching belt. Self-Portrait, the fashion label founded by Han Chong, recently announced an expansion in its offerings.

In terms of accessories, Hope opted for tan peep-toe clogs and layered bracelets, styling her dirty blond hair in a side part.

During the DNC, Governor Tim Walz accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination for vice president. His speech highlighted significant political achievements, including protections for reproductive rights in Minnesota. He also shared a personal story about his daughter, stating that she was conceived through in vitro fertilization.

Governor Walz expressed his deep love for his family, stating, «Hope, Gus, and Gwen, you are my entire world, and I love you.» He emphasized that this election is fundamentally about freedom.

Following his address, Hope, Gus, and Gwen joined him on stage. Gwen, a dedicated school teacher, wore a navy ensemble that included a long-sleeved crepe coat dress featuring a fitted V-neck bodice and pleated details along the waist and skirt. She completed her outfit with matching suede pumps and dangle earrings.

Tim and Gwen Walz first met while they were teachers in Alliance, Nebraska. They married in 1994 and have two children, Hope and Gus, born in 2001 and 2006, respectively.

The 2024 Democratic National Convention is currently being held in Chicago and will conclude on Thursday. The event brings together delegates from all 50 states and U.S. territories to formally nominate Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for president and Tim Walz as the candidate for vice president.
