Hugh Grant Shares Amusing Story Behind Daughter’s Middle Name
Hugh Grant, the renowned British actor, recently shared an amusing anecdote about his six-year-old daughter’s middle name during an appearance on «Jimmy Kimmel Live.» Grant revealed that he and his wife, Anna Elisabet Eberstein, decided to give their daughter the middle name «Danger.» The decision was taken, according to Grant, to provide her with an amusing story to tell when she grows up. «We thought it might be nice for her when she was older if she could say in bars that her middle name is Danger. So her name is Lulu Danger Grant. Austin Powers, you know?» he remarked.
The choice of «Danger» is a humorous nod to the 1997 film «Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,» in which the protagonist, played by Mike Myers, famously quips that «Danger» is his middle name. Grant joked about this connection during his television appearance, adding a layer of lightheartedness to the story.
Grant, who has not publicly disclosed the first names of his two daughters with Eberstein, also recounted that his son had initially suggested «Kevin» after his favorite «Despicable Me» character when the family was deciding on his younger sister’s name. Although they considered the name «Kevin,» Grant explained that they encouraged their son to pick another name, leading to the suggestion of «Blue,» his favorite color.
Over the course of the interview, Grant also touched on his past romance with «Austin Powers» star Elizabeth Hurley, with whom he has maintained a close friendship since their breakup in 2000. Hurley, who described Grant as a great father and successful actor, recently spoke favorably of him, stating that «He’s very happily married… He’s a great daddy.»
Grant’s latest film, «Heretic,» is scheduled for release in cinemas on Friday, November 1. This work follows a string of successful projects for the «Notting Hill» star, contributing to what Hurley described as the «best reviews of his life.»
