Iheanacho Joins Sevilla: A New Chapter Begins
Super Eagles star Kelechi Iheanacho has landed in Spain as he prepares to make a move to La Liga club Sevilla.
Sevilla welcomed Iheanacho with a warm greeting, posting a photo of him at the airport with the caption in Igbo: «Nnọọ Kelechi,» which translates to «Welcome Kelechi» in English.
According to well-known Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Iheanacho is set to sign a two-year deal with the team.
If the transfer goes through, he will be the second Nigerian player to join Sevilla this summer, following Chidera Ejuke’s arrival.
Iheanacho will join the team as a free agent after his contract with Leicester City came to an end. Leicester recently earned their spot back in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old has had a solid career at Leicester, scoring 35 goals in 173 appearances and helping the club clinch the FA Cup, the Community Shield, and the Championship title.
