On August 15, 2024, Pune buzzed with celebration as the city marked the 78th Independence Day. The highlight of the day was the hoisting of the National Tricolor by Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, alongside Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

The ceremony took place at the historic Council Hall where excited citizens gathered to witness the event. As the police band played the National Anthem and the State Song, the atmosphere was filled with pride and patriotism.

Local MPs, MLAs, and other people’s representatives were present, joined by senior administrative and police officers. Children and families from the area also made sure to attend this special occasion, adding to the festive spirit.

During the event, Governor Radhakrishnan took a moment to exchange greetings and well wishes with everyone gathered, spreading joy and a sense of community.
