India Launches Campaign at Paris Paralympics 2024

India‘s contingent is set to showcase its prowess at the Paris Paralympics 2024, commencing on August 30. The Indian team is excited about the opportunity to start its medal tally in this prestigious event.

Among the star athletes, shooter Avani Lekhara will take center stage, who previously claimed a gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics. She is joined by fellow competitors Karamjyoti and Sakshi Kasana, who will participate in the Women’s Discus Throw – F55 Final.

In addition, the schedule includes Preethi Pal competing in the Women’s 100m – T35 Final and Manu in the Men’s Shot Put – F37 Final. Arshad Shaik will aim for a strong performance in the Men’s C2 3000m Individual Pursuit Qualifying round.

In the realm of Para Badminton, a series of matches are lined up, featuring Manasi Joshi against Oksana Kozyna from Ukraine and Manoj Sarkar versus Mongkhon Bunsun from Thailand, among others. The para-athletes will also compete in various singles and mixed doubles matches throughout the day.

Further, the Para Shooting events promise excitement, with Avani Lekhara and Mona Agarwal in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 Qualification at 12:30 PM, followed by the Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 Qualification featuring Rudransh Khandelwal and Manish Narwal at 2:45 PM.

Aside from athletics, the Indian para-rowing duo of Anita and Narayana Konganapalle are set to compete in the PR3 Mixed Double Sculls Heats at 3 PM. Meanwhile, a strong performance is anticipated from Sarita in Women’s Individual Compound Open round of archery.

With a total of 84 para-athletes representing India, including 32 women, the upcoming Paralympics highlights the nation’s commitment to sportsmanship and competitive excellence.
