India Post Announces Massive Recruitment Drive for 44,228 Vacancies for GDS Positions

India Post, the largest postal network in India, has unveiled a significant recruitment announcement for 44,228 vacancies for the position of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS).

The recruitment process is being conducted online through the official website indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. Interested candidates have the opportunity to apply from July 15 to August 5, 2024, for these coveted positions.

The vacancies are for the roles of Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) / Dak Sevak for the upcoming financial year. Successful candidates will enjoy monthly salaries ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹29,380, based on the specific position.

The eligibility criterion requires candidates to be between 18 to 40 years of age and possess a Class 10 certificate from a government-recognized school board. Additionally, applicants must provide their Secondary School Examination Pass Certificate demonstrating pass marks in Mathematics and English.

The recruitment process comprises three stages: Registration, Application Fee payment, and Online Application submission. Candidates are encouraged to carefully follow each step to ensure a smooth application process.

According to the Reserve Bank of India, India witnessed a job growth of 6% in FY24, compared to 3.2% in FY23. This increase led to an addition of 4.67 crore jobs, bringing the total provisional jobs in the country to 64.33 crore, a significant rise from the previous fiscal year.

Citibank data suggests that achieving a 7% growth rate could generate 80 lakh to 90 lakh job opportunities in India, addressing the current need for 1.1 crore to 1.2 crore jobs.
