India Secures Bronze in Men’s Hockey at Paris Olympics
India has made the country proud by winning the bronze medal in men’s hockey at the Paris Olympics on August 8, 2024. This victory marks India’s second consecutive bronze medal in Olympic history and brings their total tally in hockey to 13 medals.
The Indian team, led by skipper Harmanpreet Singh, defeated Spain 2-0 in a thrilling match at the Yves-du-Manoir Stadium. This win is especially sweet, as it’s the first time India has won back-to-back Olympic medals in hockey after a gap of 52 years.

The team showcased an impressive performance throughout the match, with goalkeeper PR Sreejesh making crucial saves that helped maintain India’s lead. This match was also significant for Sreejesh as it marked his final international appearance.
