Indian Women’s National Team Pacer Pooja Vastrakar Suffers Knee Injury During ODI Against South Africa
Indian women’s national team fast bowler Pooja Vastrakar was forced to leave the field with a suspected knee injury during the One Day International (ODI) match against South Africa at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Pooja appeared to injure her left knee as she landed awkwardly while bowling, raising fears of a possible strain on a knee that had previously undergone ACL surgery.
The bowler had a notable impact in the game by picking up a wicket maiden in the sixth over, dismissing South African batter Anneke Bosch.
In a commendable batting display by India, opener Smriti Mandhana fought hard to score a century, eventually being dismissed for 117 runs.
Pooja also contributed with the bat towards the end of India’s innings, scoring an unbeaten 31 off 42 deliveries to help India post a competitive total of 265.
