Indigo Flights Bengaluru Mauritius

IndiGo Airlines has announced the commencement of direct flights connecting Bengaluru to Mauritius, marking an expansion in the airline’s international network to 35 destinations. The introduction of this new route is set to operate four times a week and aims to cater to the growing demand for tourism and enhanced commercial linkages between the two regions.

The inaugural flight on this route took place on November 19, 2024, completing the journey in approximately five and a half hours. With the inclusion of Mauritius’s capital, Port Louis, into its destination list, the island becomes IndiGo’s second African destination, following the launch of Mumbai to Nairobi flights in August 2024.

Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales, expressed optimism about the new route, stating, «India and Mauritius share strong cultural, political, and economic connections. These flights will further deepen that bond. With visa-on-arrival available for Indian travellers, this route promises great potential for both leisure and business travellers. As always, IndiGo remains committed to providing affordable, timely, and seamless travel experiences.»

Flight 6E1861 is scheduled to depart from Bengaluru at 3:20 AM every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, arriving in Mauritius at 7:45 AM local time. The return flight is set to leave Mauritius at 9:30 AM and arrive back in Bengaluru at 4:45 PM, adapting to the respective time zones.

Mauritius, renowned for its stunning natural landscapes and vibrant cultural heritage, is also known to be a favorable destination for business with its investor-friendly policies and emphasis on innovation and technology development. The island attracts a diverse range of visitors seeking both the tranquility of its beautiful beaches and the dynamic opportunities in its economic landscape.

In addition to the new IndiGo service, Port Louis Airport is accessible from Mumbai through flights provided by Air Mauritius and Air India, further enhancing connectivity between India and Mauritius.
