Inter Milan Scouts Bologna Winger Dan Ndoye as Potential Replacement for Denzel Dumfries
Inter Milan has been actively scouting Bologna‘s talented winger Dan Ndoye during the ongoing EURO 2024 tournament. The Italian club sees the 23-year-old as a potential replacement for their current wingback, Denzel Dumfries.
According to reports from Sky Sport Italia and Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter’s Assistant Sporting Director Dario Baccin closely observed Ndoye in action during Switzerland‘s match against Scotland.
Ndoye, who started for Switzerland as an attacking winger in today’s game, showcased his skills on the field. He has been a key player for both Bologna and the Swiss national team throughout the tournament.
Despite playing primarily as a winger, Inter believes Ndoye has the versatility to adapt to a more defensive wingback role, similar to Juan Cuadrado’s transition in the past.
The match between Switzerland and Scotland ended in a 1-1 draw, with goals from Fabian Schar and Xherdan Shaqiri. Ndoye’s performance caught the attention of Inter’s scouting team present at the game in Cologne, Germany.
While also monitoring Yann Sommer on the field, Inter’s focus was on assessing Ndoye’s potential fit within their squad. The club is considering Ndoye as a viable option if Dumfries decides to leave this summer.
However, Dumfries’ future at Inter remains uncertain, contingent on contract negotiations. If Dumfries departs, Ndoye emerges as a top target for the Nerazzurri to bolster their wingback position and add depth to their squad.
