Isabel May Joins Cast of Scream 7 as Sidney Prescott’s Daughter
Actress Isabel May, widely recognized for her roles in the Yellowstone prequels «1883» and «1923,» has secured a significant role in the upcoming «Scream 7.» According to industry sources, May is set to play the daughter of the series’ central character, Sidney Prescott, portrayed by Neve Campbell, who is returning to the franchise after skipping the previous installment.
The seventh installment of the iconic horror series is being produced by Paramount Pictures and is scheduled for theatrical release on February 27, 2026. The film enters production at a time of considerable change within the franchise, following the departure of key actors Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera. Their exits were reportedly due to various reasons including personal statements and rumors of casting disputes.
«Scream 7» is directed by Kevin Williamson, the original creator of the franchise. Williamson scripted the first, second, and fourth «Scream» films, working alongside the late Wes Craven, and has now taken on the director’s role for this new sequel. The screenplay for «Scream 7» has been penned by Guy Busick, who previously wrote the scripts for «Scream» in 2022 and «Scream VI.»
Producers for «Scream 7» include James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein of Project X Entertainment. They are tasked with refreshing the formula that brought «Scream VI» substantial success, earning $166.3 million globally.
The first «Scream» was released in 1996, becoming a cult classic that reshaped the horror genre. It introduced audiences to Neve Campbell’s character, Sidney Prescott, alongside Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers and David Arquette as Dewey Riley. Craven’s directorial influence and Williamson’s writing created a new wave of horror films during the late 1990s.
May, in addition to her work in the «Yellowstone» television universe, has appeared in the 2022 romantic comedy «I Want You Back» and co-starred in the Apple TV+ series «Masters of the Air.» She is represented by CAA and Principal Entertainment.
