2024 Italian Open Draws Tennis Enthusiasts to Foro Italico in Rome
The 2024 edition of the Italian Open, known as the Rome Masters, has kicked off in Rome, drawing tennis fans and players alike to the iconic Foro Italico. Situated in the northern part of Rome, the Foro Italico complex is bustling with sports enthusiasts eager to witness top tennis action.
To reach the Foro Italico, visitors can opt for public transportation routes. Starting from Termini station, the Metro A line heading towards Battistini is a popular choice. Alight at Ottaviano, near the Vatican, and board the No. 32 bus towards the ‘De Bosis‘ stop, leading you to a short walk to the Foro Italico. Alternatively, taking the Metro A line towards Battistini to Flaminio can be followed by a tram ride on the No. 2 line to Piazza Mancini, then a walk across the Ponte Duca d’Aosta bridge to reach the sports complex.
For those keen on a walk, the Foro Italico is around six kilometers from the city center, making for a pleasant 40-minute stroll from popular areas like Flaminio. Taxis are also available for a quicker commute, coordinated by main taxi companies within Rome.
The Foro Italico, originally known as the Foro Mussolini, hosts the Stadio Olimpico, a massive sports facility that accommodates various events throughout the year.
