Italy set to kick off Euro 2024 title defence against Albania
Defending champions Italy will commence their Euro 2024 campaign facing off against Albania at the iconic BVB Stadion Dortmund on Saturday.
The crucial match will be overseen by Felix Zwayer, a proficient referee from Germany, with the assistance of his fellow countrymen Stefan Lupp and Marco Achmuller as assistant referees. Joining the team as the Video Assistant Referee is Bastian Dankert, while Christian Dingert and the sole non-German official Rob Dieperink from Netherlands serve as the Assistant Video Assistant Referees.
Italy’s last encounter with Albania dates back to a 2022 friendly match, where the Italians secured a 3-1 victory, courtesy of goals from Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Vincenzo Grifo.
