Colombia‘s maestro James Rodriguez dazzled on the field as his team advanced to the semifinals of the Copa America with a resounding victory over Panama. Rodriguez’s impactful performance included a goal and two assists, propelling Colombia to a 3-0 lead in the quarterfinal clash at Glendale, Arizona.

The match saw Rodriguez’s creative brilliance on full display. In the 8th minute, he delivered a pinpoint corner kick that met the head of Jhon Cordoba, who expertly directed the ball past Panama’s keeper, Orlando Mosquera, giving Colombia an early 1-0 advantage.

Shortly after, Rodriguez coolly converted a penalty in the 15th minute, following a foul on Jhoan Arias in the box by Mosquera. The former Real Madrid star’s precise finish extended Colombia’s lead to 2-0, showcasing his goal-scoring prowess.

Rodriguez’s magical touch was evident once more as he orchestrated a stunning play from deep in his own half, setting up Luis Diaz for a delightful chip over the keeper, securing a commanding 3-0 lead for Colombia.

With this scintillating performance, Rodriguez notched his fourth and fifth assists in the Copa America, adding to his international tally of 28 goals in 104 caps. His World Cup-winning experience and skill were instrumental in Colombia’s triumph over Panama.

Colombia’s opponent, Panama, had a chance in the 18th minute as Roderick Miller’s header struck the post before being cleared off the line by Colombia’s keeper, Camilo Vargas, denying Panama a potential goal.

In a moment of intensity, Colombian midfielder Mateus Uribe received a yellow card in the first minute of injury time, adding a touch of drama to an otherwise dominant first half performance by Colombia.
