Jasdeep Singh Gill Appointed New Head of Radha Soami Satsang Beas
In a significant development within the spiritual organization Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB), Jasdeep Singh Gill has been appointed as the new patron and ‘sant satguru’ of the sect, effective September 2, 2024.
The announcement was made by RSSB secretary Devender Kumar Sikri. He conveyed that Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon, the former head, has nominated Gill for this esteemed role. The appointment marks a new chapter for both Gill and the organization he is set to lead.
Jasdeep Singh Gill, 45, is highly regarded for his impressive academic credentials, having earned a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Cambridge and holding a master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biochemical engineering and biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.
Before assuming his new role, Gill had a distinguished career in the pharmaceutical industry. He served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Cipla Limited from 2019 until May 31, 2024, and was also involved with Ethris and Achira Labs Private Limited as a board observer. Furthermore, he held a board position at Wealthy Therapeutics until March 2024 and previously worked at Ranbaxy as the executive assistant to the CEO.
Sikri’s statement highlighted the hope that Gill would receive the same support and affection from the ‘sangat’ (community) that Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon had after succeeding Huzur Maharaj ji. With this transition, Gill is expected to carry out service (sewa) as the patron and sant satguru of the RSSB.
The Radha Soami Satsang Beas is known for fostering spiritual beliefs that resonate across various religions, guided by a living spiritual teacher.
