England‘s pace sensation Jofra Archer has made a remarkable comeback to the national squad after over a year of battling injuries, securing his spot in the England team for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Archer, whose last appearance for England dates back to March 2023, has overcome a series of challenges including stress fractures, elbow issues, and a bizarre fish tank mishap that required surgery.

Joining Archer in the squad is experienced all-rounder Chris Jordan, who also returns after a hiatus, last playing for England in September 2023.

The batting lineup will be led by Jos Buttler, with the likes of Will Jacks, Phil Salt, and Jonny Bairstow as the top-order contenders. Ben Duckett and Moeen Ali bring left-handed diversity to the team.

Lower-order firepower will be provided by the trio of Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, and Sam Curran, while Adil Rashid will spearhead the spin attack along with Tom Hartley.

The England squad, which also includes players like Mark Wood, is set to defend their T20 World Cup title, with matches scheduled against teams like Australia, Namibia, Oman, and Scotland in Group B.

Following the T20 World Cup, England will face Pakistan in a four-match T20I series starting on May 22, with all IPL players expected to return for the series against Babar Azam‘s side.

Rob Key, managing director of England men’s cricket, expressed optimism about Archer’s return and highlighted the team’s preparations for the upcoming challenges.

All teams have the option to make changes to their squads until May 25, with any alterations requiring approval from the ICC’s Event Technical Committee.
