John Travolta Celebrates Son Benjamin’s 14th Birthday with Emotional Tribute
John Travolta, the acclaimed actor known for his roles in films such as «Grease,» marked a special occasion on Saturday, November 23, as his youngest son, Benjamin Travolta, celebrated his 14th birthday. The 70-year-old Travolta shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, accompanied by a photograph of Benjamin receiving a kiss from the family dog, Peanut.
«Happy birthday my Ben. Your dad loves you! And so does Peanut!» Travolta wrote, conveying his affection for his son. The post was met with a warm response from fans and celebrities alike, including comments from Rita Wilson and Donnie Wahlberg, who sent their birthday wishes to Benjamin.
Benjamin is the youngest child of John Travolta and his late wife, actress Kelly Preston, who tragically passed away in 2020 following a battle with breast cancer. The couple, who were married in 1991, also had a daughter, Ella Bleu Travolta, and a son, Jett Travolta, who died in 2009 at the age of 16 following a seizure.
In celebration of her brother’s birthday, Ella Bleu Travolta, 24, shared her own tribute on social media. Posting a striking image of Benjamin against the backdrop of a stunning sunset while on a boat, she expressed her love with the caption, «Happy Birthday Benjamin!!!!!! I love you,» adding a heart emoji.
Travolta, who has largely kept his children out of the public eye, has occasionally shared insights into his family life. Notably, during a 2021 appearance on «Hart to Heart,» the talk show hosted by Kevin Hart, Travolta recounted a poignant conversation with Benjamin about loss and mortality. Following the death of Kelly Preston, Benjamin expressed fears about losing his father too.
«I told him, ‘Well, it’s a very different thing.’ And I went through the differences about my longevity and her limited life,» Travolta shared on the show, trying to reassure his son. «But you know, Ben, you always love the truth, and I’m going to tell you the truth about life. Nobody knows when they’re gonna go or when they’re going to stay.»
Travolta continued, saying, «Your brother [Jett] left at 16. Too young. Your mother left at 57. That was too young. But who’s to say? I could die tomorrow. You could. Anybody can. So let’s look at it like it’s part of life. You don’t know exactly. You just do your best at trying to live the longest you can.»
