JoSAA Announces Category-wise Top 20 Percentile Cut-off Marks for BTech Admissions 2024
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has recently disclosed the category-wise top 20 percentile cut-off marks for the 2024 board exams, a critical factor in determining eligibility for BTech admissions to prestigious institutes.
JoSAA’s counselling process facilitates admissions to renowned educational institutions like Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and various government-funded technical institutes (GFTIs).
For students vying for BTech admissions, meeting the top 20 percentile criteria in their respective boards or clearing the JEE Advanced examination is imperative to qualify for consideration.
An estimated 15 lakh JEE Main 2024 candidates are poised to compete for approximately 42,000 seats within the NIT+ System, highlighting the fierce competition in the academic sphere.
The seat allocation process during JoSAA counselling 2024 will hinge on candidates’ academic merit, preferences for specific courses and colleges, ensuring the most deserving candidates secure seats in their preferred educational institutions.
To meet the eligibility criteria, candidates must have completed their Class 12 board exams with a minimum of five subjects, attaining a cumulative score of at least 75 percent.
While the baseline requirement stands at 75 percent, candidates falling under special categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Person with Disabilities (PwD) have a relaxed criterion with a minimum aggregate of 65 percent to be eligible for admissions.
