JoSAA Counselling 2024: Registration to Commence on June 10 for Engineering Aspirants Nationwide

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is gearing up to kick off the registration process for JoSAA counselling 2024 around June 10, 2024, offering a significant opportunity for engineering aspirants who excelled in the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. JoSAA Counselling 2024 holds immense importance following the release of results for JEE Main 2024 Session 2 by the National Testing Agency (NTA), encompassing both Paper I and Paper II. Aspirants qualifying for the JEE Advanced will commence their registration from April 27, 2024. The outcomes of the JEE Advanced examination, slated for May 26, are expected to be disclosed on June 9, 2024, paving the way for successful candidates to participate in the counselling process for esteemed institutions like IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs facilitated by JoSAA, starting from June 10, 2024.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) plays a crucial role in orchestrating centralized counselling for candidates who have cleared the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It aims to manage seat allocation for admissions into undergraduate engineering programs at various participating institutes, including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), and more.

JoSAA Counselling 2024 Schedule is tentatively set to kick off on June 10, leading candidates through registration, choice filling, mock seat allocation, multiple rounds of seat allocation, and final seat acceptance rounds. Eligible candidates must have secured qualifying ranks in JEE Main or JEE Advanced exams and fulfill specific criteria set by the participating institutes regarding performance in Class XII examinations.

The counselling process involves stages such as Registration, Choice Filling and Locking, Seat Allocation, Acceptance of Seat, and Reporting. Candidates must provide essential documents like Class X and XII Mark sheets, Category certificate, PwD certificate, Bank details, and JEE Main/Advanced admit card for verification during the process.

JoSAA Counselling Fees include free choice filling and Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) of Rs 20,000 for SC/ST/PwD categories and Rs 45,000 for General/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS categories. Approximately 118 institutes participate in JoSAA 2024, consisting of IITs, NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, ensuring aspirants a wide range of prestigious options for their engineering education.
