Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall are gearing up for a highly-anticipated rematch following their contentious first encounter in Glasgow at the SSE Hydro over two years ago.

Taylor, hailing from East Lothian, had emerged victoriously in the previous bout, having unified the light-welterweight division through his impressive performances in the World Boxing Super Series. He secured wins against notable opponents like Ryan Martin, Ivan Baranchyk, Regis Prograis, and Jose Carlos Ramirez to claim multiple world titles.

On the other hand, Catterall, an underdog in their first match-up, pushed Taylor to the distance, with many believing he had done enough to win. However, the judges’ verdict favored Taylor, sparking a prolonged feud between the two fighters, leading to the upcoming rematch.

Josh Taylor, who holds an array of titles including the Commonwealth, WBC Silver, IBF, WBC, WBO, WBA (Super), and The Ring light-welterweight titles, will face off against Jack Catterall, who boasts titles like the Central Area, British, WBO European, WBO Inter-Continental, and WBA Inter-Continental light-welterweight titles.

Recent fights for Taylor include a loss to Teofimo Lopez at Madison Square Garden, followed by wins against opponents like Jose Carlos Ramirez and Regis Prograis. Meanwhile, Catterall secured victories over Jorge Linares and Darragh Foley, with a single loss to Taylor in their previous encounter.

The highly-anticipated rematch will be available for streaming live on DAZN in over 200 countries, with a stacked undercard of fights before Taylor and Catterall step into the ring in Leeds tonight.
