Kano State Government Remits Over N600 Million for Developmental Projects
The Kano State government has successfully remitted over N600 million towards the initiation of new developmental projects in the state. This significant financial commitment is aimed at driving progress and growth across various sectors in Kano.
During a Stakeholder Dialogue Meeting focused on enhancing the implementation of International Development Funds in Kano, the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, highlighted the importance of transparency and efficiency in utilizing donor funding.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by Chief of Staff Shehu Sagagi, emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring the proper allocation and execution of funds for designated projects.
It was reiterated that maintaining public trust by responsibly handling borrowed funds from donor agencies is a top priority for the administration in Kano. The state government is committed to prudent financial management and the successful completion of development initiatives.
Additionally, the governor called on donor agencies co-funding projects to report any issues or irregularities in the implementation process. This proactive approach aims to address any challenges promptly and uphold accountability in project execution.
The Accountant General of Kano State, Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, affirmed the government’s pledge to release counterpart resources in a timely manner to support projects that enhance social and human development in the state. The stakeholders’ meeting was conducted to foster collaboration and ensure the effective utilization of International Development Funds to achieve project goals efficiently.
Abdulsalam emphasized the need for value for money in project implementation, especially with a significant portion of the state’s annual budget consisting of international development funds. The focus remains on successful project delivery within set parameters of cost, scope, and time.
