Kansas City Chiefs‘ running back, Isiah Pacheco, has been unable to make his return to the field after suffering a significant injury earlier in the NFL season. Pacheco has been sidelined since Week 2, following a game against the Cincinnati Bengals in which he fractured his fibula.

According to sources within the Chiefs’ organization, Pacheco resumed participation in team practices last week. However, despite his progress, he remains on injured reserve and will not be available for the upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers this Sunday.

Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid has indicated that Pacheco might be on track to return for the highly anticipated Black Friday game against the Las Vegas Raiders. However, Reid emphasized the uncertainty regarding the exact timeline of Pacheco’s full recovery.

In Pacheco’s absence, the Chiefs have relied on Kareem Hunt as the starting running back. The team’s second-string rusher has been Samaje Perine, with Carson Steele providing additional support in the backfield. This trio has managed to effectively fill the void left by Pacheco’s injury.

The final injury report released by the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of their game against the Panthers confirms Pacheco’s status as «out,» with his continued recovery from the ankle injury. Meanwhile, players like Charles Omenihu will also miss the game due to a knee injury, while Kareem Hunt is free of restrictions despite previous knee concerns.

For the Panthers, Miles Sanders is out with an ankle injury, adding to the list of players in doubt, including Amare Barno and Adam Thielen, who are nursing knee and hamstring injuries, respectively.
