Katie Leung Embraces New Role in ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4
Actress Katie Leung, best known for her portrayal of Cho Chang in the ‘Harry Potter‘ film franchise, is generating excitement for her new role in the popular series ‘Bridgerton‘. Leung has been cast as Lady Araminta Gun in the upcoming fourth season of the series, currently filming.
According to an interview with the publication, Leung has embraced what she describes as her «mother-slash-villain» era, reflecting on her character’s complexity in the upcoming season. «I would never call her evil because I adore her—I think she’s absolutely fabulous. She’s just heavily misunderstood,» Leung remarked during a discussion about her character.
In addition to the character’s intriguing personality, Leung hinted at the standout costumes that viewers can expect to see. «But if there’s anything that I can say, I mean, the costumes. They’re always brilliant on that show, but hers are something else,» she mentioned.
Lady Araminta is described as a twice-married and twice-widowed woman who is determined to introduce her two daughters to society. She is characterized as «fabulous, discerning, and blunt,» but she does not take well to threats against her social standing. The character is intent on marrying one of her daughters off by the season’s conclusion, with Benedict Bridgerton as a likely target.
The fourth season of ‘Bridgerton’, based on Julia Quinn‘s book «An Offer From a Gentleman,» will further explore these societal dynamics and introduce Lady Araminta as the employer to another character, Sophie. Michelle Mao and Isabella Wei have joined the cast as Araminta’s daughters, Rosamund and Posy, respectively. Rosamund is «beautiful, vain, and eager to please her mother,» while Posy is known for her kindness but often puts her foot in her mouth.
‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 is set to premiere in August 2026 on Netflix. Seasons 1-3 are currently available to stream on the platform.
