Katy Perry Reveals Wedding Plans on Hold Until After Turning 40
Katy Perry recently opened up about her plans for marrying Orlando Bloom, revealing that she is waiting until after her 40th birthday to tie the knot. The pop star discussed this in a chat with Jamie Theakston and Zoe Hardman, sharing insights about what’s been keeping her and Orlando from the altar.
The couple had initially planned to say ‘I do’ on February 27, 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic threw a wrench in those plans. Katy mentioned during the chat that they now have a large credit with the venue they chose for their wedding, adding a humorous touch when she said, «I just can’t tell you more.»
Katy, who turns 40 at the end of October this year, hinted that she might celebrate her milestone birthday first before focusing on wedding plans. It seems that the wedding outfit will also be reworked since she was pregnant with their daughter Daisy Dove when they originally planned the ceremony.
The couple first crossed paths at a Golden Globes party back in 2016 and hit it off over a shared love for In-N-Out burgers. After a brief breakup in 2017, they reconciled and Orlando proposed to Katy on Valentine’s Day in 2019, surprising her with a helicopter ride and a stunning engagement ring.
Katy has since expressed how motherhood has immensely changed her life for the better, considering it the best decision she ever made. She describes her daughter as the view she had been searching for all her life.
As their daughter turns four this year, fans are speculating that 2024 could be the year Katy and Orlando finally wed, especially since Katy has hinted at possibly taking a break from her commitments on American Idol. She mentioned on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that this might be her last season on the show, indicating she’s ready to explore new opportunities.
