Kerala Police Register Rape Case Against Malayalam Film Director Omar Lulu

Kerala police have initiated legal action against prominent Malayalam film director Omar Lulu following a rape complaint filed by a young actress. The case has been filed under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code based on the actress’s allegations.

The complaint was initially received by the Cochin City Police Commissioner and later forwarded to the Ernakulam Rural Police for investigation. The allegations against the director have prompted a preliminary inquiry under the criminal law.

Omar Lulu, known for directing popular Malayalam films, has not yet commented on the case. His notable works include Happy Wedding, Chunkzz, Oru Adaar Love, Dhamaka, and Good Time.

Lulu, who also made headlines for controversial issues like the usage of MDMA footage in the movie ‘Naada Samadhi’, has previously faced challenges. The filmmaker’s future in the industry remains uncertain as the legal proceedings unfold.
