Kolkata Doctor Murder Shocks Community
A shocking incident has unfolded in Kolkata, where a doctor was found brutally murdered. The postmortem report from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital reveals that she was throttled to death, and disturbing details continue to emerge.
The report indicates that her thyroid cartilage was broken from strangling, and there were alarming injuries noted, including a deep wound in her private parts. Experts believe the tragic events prevailed during the early hours of August 9.
Witnesses suggest the injuries on her body show signs of a struggle, with wounds on her belly, lips, fingers, and left leg. It appears the victim tried desperately to fight back, as the assailant reportedly clamped her mouth and nose to silence her screams.
The horrifying report also describes bleeding from her eyes and mouth, further indicating the severity of the attack. Notably, the wounds in her private areas have been categorized as a result of «perverted sexuality» and «genital torture.» However, the cause of her eye injuries remains unclear.
In reaction to the brutal incident, the Calcutta High Court has intervened and directed Dr Sandip Ghosh, who was the head of the medical college, to take a leave of absence. The court criticized his previous handling of the situation, stating that he should have been questioning the circumstances surrounding the murder.
Dr Ghosh faced backlash for allegedly blaming the victim and not ensuring the safety of staff. After resigning, he was quickly reinstated, which raised further concerns within the community, leading the court to question the motives behind such decisions.
The court emphasized the need for accountability and described the murder as «gruesome,» highlighting the emotional impact it has had on the doctor community and the public. The ongoing situation continues to draw attention and demands for justice in the face of such a horrific crime.
